This is a high-impact role for a senior engineer who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly, and wants to shape the technical foundation of a venture-backed AI cybersecurity company. You will work directly with the CTO and founders to design, build, and scale a cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS platform leveraging .NET / .NET Core, React, and modern cloud PaaS/SaaS services, with increasing integration of AI-driven capabilities. This is not a narrow feature-development role. You will influence architecture, DevOps, security posture, hiring, and engineering culture. What You’ll Own 1. Platform Architecture Design and implement the initial system architecture. Define multi-tenant SaaS patterns (data isolation, RBAC, observability). Establish backend service structure using .NET / .NET Core (C#). Define frontend architecture using React and TypeScript. Make early cloud decisions (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP considered). 2. Hands-On Full-Stack Development Build production-grade APIs, services, and UI components. Develop event-driven and asynchronous processing pipelines. Integrate authentication, authorization, and secure data handling. Ship rapidly while maintaining high engineering standards. 3. Cloud & DevOps Infrastructure Stand up infrastructure using PaaS-first principles. Implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code. Design for scalability, observability, and cost control from day one. Establish logging, monitoring, and alerting standards. 4. AI-Ready Platform Design Build APIs and data pipelines that support ML/AI inference. Integrate AI services (LLMs, anomaly detection, risk scoring). Ensure explainability, auditability, and secure AI integration. Prepare architecture for model lifecycle and scaling needs. 5. Security & Compliance by Design Embed secure coding and secure architecture practices. Implement encryption, secrets management, and least-privilege access. Design with SOC 2 / ISO readiness in mind. Participate in threat modeling and architectural risk assessments. 6. Engineering Culture & Hiring Help define coding standards, review practices, and documentation norms. Mentor early hires and shape the technical bar. Contribute to engineering hiring and interview processes. Required Qualifications 8+ years of professional software engineering experience. Strong expertise in .NET / .NET Core (C#). Solid experience building applications with React and TypeScript. Proven experience designing and operating SaaS platforms. Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider: Azure preferred AWS or GCP acceptable Strong understanding of: Distributed systems fundamentals API design and microservices Authentication and authorization models Relational and NoSQL databases Comfortable operating in early-stage, ambiguous environments. Nice to Have Experience in cybersecurity, compliance, or regulated industries. Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure or LLM integration. Experience with Kubernetes, containers, or serverless platforms. Background in event streaming (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Event Grid). Prior startup or founding engineer experience. Experience supporting enterprise customers.
