About the job
We’re an early-stage startup building something truly special, and we’re looking for a talented Back-end Engineer to join us at the ground level.

This role starts as a part-time (20 hours/week), may lead to full-time, equity-based position while we raise seed funding, with the expectation of transitioning into a full-time, salaried role as funds become available.

What You’ll Do

Design, develop, and maintain our product’s back end using TypeScript.
Build and scale a RESTful API with a framework like Hono.
Define data models for MongoDB and database and DTO schemas using Zod.
Architect and deploy scalable solutions using AWS technologies.
Integrate with 3rd party providers for AI, geolocation, and other services.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless code deployment.
Develop features requiring real-time communication, such as WebSocket-based services.
Collaborate closely with the founding team to iterate quickly based on user feedback.
Contribute to the long-term technology roadmap and ensure the product’s scalability, security, and reliability.
What We’re Looking For

5+ years of experience as a back-end developer or software engineer, preferably in startups or building products from scratch.
Proficiency in TypeScript, Node, and REST API development.
An understanding of data modeling, relational databases, and NoSQL.
Familiarity with hybrid mobile development frameworks like Capacitor or Cordova.
Familiarity with deploying applications on AWS (e.g., ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, etc.).
Strong understanding of software architecture principles and best practices.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control systems like Git.
Knowledge of real-time communication protocols (e.g., WebSockets).
Experience with 3rd party APIs, including gen AI providers.
Bonus: Experience with scalable database design, Vue3, and mobile app release processes (App Store, Google Play).
