About the Firm:

 Our Client builds AI Digital Workers for financial compliance teams. Their agents investigate alerts, review customers and transactions, and generate audit-ready narratives to help banks and fintechs operate faster with less manual work. The founding team has built and sold companies before, with over $300M in collective value creation. Axle has raised $6.2M in seed funding and is growing from 8 to 15 teammates.


Position Overview:

 The Senior / Staff Software Engineer will design and build AI-driven solutions for financial compliance. This is a core product engineering role where you will ship features daily, make architectural decisions, and help shape the future of AI-driven financial compliance products.


Responsibilities:

Integrate with financial data providers and customer systems
Build AI agents that interact with customers and process compliance workflows
Ship new product features daily using Python
Make critical technical and product decisions quickly
Take risks and innovate in a fast-paced startup environment
Own large pieces of the product end-to-end, from design to production


Required Qualifications (Must Haves):

Exceptional full-stack software development experience
Deep architectural experience in large-scale distributed systems and data management
Pragmatic, fast-paced approach to early-stage product development
Familiarity and interest in LLMs, ML/DL, and AI agents
Strong problem-solving skills and sense of urgency
Experience in fintech or financial compliance is highly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Strong written and verbal English communication skills


Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Haves):

Product mindset and experience shipping production-ready software
Domain experience in payments or fintech startups
Hands-on experience with AI/ML applications and agent-driven workflows
Experience in designing systems that scale for high data throughput


Benefits & Compensation:

$200,000 – $300,000 USD base salary
$600,000 – $1,000,000 USD equity
