Their mission is clear and urgent: de-risk grid interconnection and bridge the widening gap between large-load demand and grid reality. As hyperscale data centers, electrification, and industrial expansion accelerate, interconnection timelines and transmission constraints have become the primary bottleneck to growth. They’re building the intelligence layer to solve this — and are hiring a Founding AI Orchestration Engineer to lead the architecture of highly sophisticated AI agent systems. This is not a generic AI engineering role. Deep, hands-on experience in grid interconnection is mandatory. 🔧 The Role You will design and orchestrate multi-agent AI systems that reason across complex grid datasets, regulatory frameworks, interconnection queues, transmission constraints, and feasibility processes. This role sits at the intersection of: AI systems architecture Power systems & interconnection domain expertise High-performance backend engineering You’ll work directly with the founding team and have significant influence over technical direction and product strategy. ✅ Required Experience Deep experience in grid interconnection (ISO/RTO processes, queue management, transmission planning, large-load interconnections, etc.) Experience orchestrating AI agents at a systems level (architecture, coordination frameworks, reasoning pipelines — not just prompt engineering) Strong background in distributed systems and backend architecture Ability to operate in a 0→1 startup environment ⭐ Strongly Preferred Experience with Elixir Background in transmission planning, utilities, ISOs/RTOs, or large energy developers Experience building production AI systems in complex regulatory environments 🌍 Why This Opportunity Is Different Interconnection queues are now the gating factor for AI infrastructure, data centers, renewables, and industrial growth. This company is building the system-of-intelligence layer that makes grid reality computable, predictable, and actionable. If you’ve lived the complexity of grid interconnection and want to solve it at scale using advanced AI systems, this is a rare opportunity to build foundational infrastructure for the next decade.
