Expert API Developer (.NET / Azure) – Contract

Location: Remote or Hybrid (Atlanta, GA)

This role is built for a seasoned API engineer who has spent years designing, scaling, and securing APIs in complex enterprise environments—and enjoys solving the hard problems that come with them. You will work on high-impact systems that support critical business processes, operate at scale, and integrate across multiple platforms and domains. 



We’re looking for someone who brings deep technical expertise in .NET, GraphQL, REST, and Azure, but who also thinks beyond the code—someone who understands how API design decisions affect downstream systems, teams, and business outcomes.


You’ll be trusted to take ownership, influence technical direction, and collaborate with experienced Agile teams to deliver resilient, secure, and maintainable API solutions.


Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance REST and GraphQL APIs using .NET / .NET Core.
Build and support integrations across complex, distributed enterprise systems.
Develop and maintain Azure Functions and Azure Logic Apps to support event-driven and integration-based workflows.
Implement and manage APIs using Azure API Management (APIM), including versioning, throttling, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
Ensure secure API design, including authentication, authorization, and API security best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in large-scale, production environments.
Collaborate within large Agile teams, working closely with product owners, architects, QA, and DevOps.
Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines, with a strong preference for GitHub Actions.
Actively engage with stakeholders to understand business processes, enterprise impacts, and business objectives, translating them into effective technical solutions.


Required Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with .NET / .NET Core in enterprise environments.
Proven experience building and supporting RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
Deep experience with Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure API Management (APIM).
Solid understanding of API authentication and security, including OAuth, tokens, and enterprise security standards.
Experience working in complex, highly integrated enterprise systems.
Strong background working on large Agile teams in fast-paced environments.
Demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines; GitHub Actions strongly preferred.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
