Salary: $239,900 – $273,800


The Opportunity



This is a senior, hands-on Distinguished Engineer role within a fast-growing cloud and data software business building modern, enterprise-scale tools for companies operating in the public cloud.


You’ll sit at the very top of the technical ladder, setting architectural direction, solving deeply complex problems, and shaping platforms that support data publishing, consumption, governance, and infrastructure at scale.


This role is ideal for someone who thrives on technical leadership, systems thinking, and long-term architectural impact, rather than people management.


What You’ll Be Doing



Define and champion a bold technical vision for your domain
Break down complex, ambiguous problems into practical, scalable solutions
Ensure high-quality system design and engineering standards across teams
Act as the go-to expert on performance, scalability, resilience, and operability
Design cloud-native platforms that abstract clients away from core systems
Lead migrations to a core-agnostic GraphQL interface layer
Build automation and tooling to accelerate client onboarding
Ensure client applications and use cases perform as expected post-migration
Mentor and influence senior engineers, raising the technical bar across the organisation
Balance multiple initiatives simultaneously, focusing effort where it delivers the most impact


What You’ll Bring



Required:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
7+ years of professional software engineering experience
5+ years working with Java, Python, and/or Node.js
3+ years working with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Deep experience designing and delivering large-scale systems


Preferred:



Master’s degree
9+ years of software engineering experience
5+ years of AWS experience
Strong background in cloud-native architecture
Experience with microservices and event-driven systems
Proven ability to influence technical strategy across multiple teams
