About the Role

We are looking for a strong DevOps Engineer with hands-on experience in Azure DevOps, JavaScript programming, automation, cloud infrastructure, application operations, with know-how on SAP BTP. The ideal candidate must have solid DevOps scripting using JavaScript and Shell, along with basic Java knowledge for build and application troubleshooting. SAP background is a strong plus.
Remote Position | Salary: Up to $240k/yr



A. Azure DevOps, Automation, Cloud Infrastructure, Application Operations

1. CI/CD and Automation

Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Pipelines.
Automate build/test/deployment workflows for:
SAP BTP apps (CAP/Node.js/Java)
Java applications on Tomcat
Microservices and frontend apps
Develop automation tools/scripts using JavaScript (Node.js) and Shell scripting.
Optimize deployment efficiency, reduce manual steps, and improve developer productivity.


2. Cloud and Platform Engineering

Deploy and manage workloads on Azure Cloud (App Services, VMs, Networking, Storage).
Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging using Azure Monitor/Application Insights.
Use IaC tools (Terraform/Bicep/ARM) if required.


3. Application Operations

Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Java applications running on Apache Tomcat.
Debug HTTP protocol, REST APIs, CORS, and networking issues.
Analyze server logs and performance bottlenecks.


4. Version Control and Release Management

Manage code repositories (Bitbucket, Azure Repos) with Gitflow branching strategies.
Generate automated release notes using Jira ticket IDs and commit messages.
Maintain integrity of build artifacts and release timelines.


5. Documentation and Collaboration

Create documentation for CI/CD pipelines, automation scripts, deployment steps.
Collaborate with developers, QA, and cloud teams.
Provide production deployment support and troubleshooting.


B. SAP BTP and HANA Administration

1. SAP BTP

Manage deployments on SAP BTP Cloud Foundry.
Work with:
BTP Destinations
XSUAA authentication/Cloud Identity Services
CAP applications (Node.js/Java)
SAP Cloud Connector
SAP Integration Suite Administration
Automate multi-environment deployments (DEV/QA/PROD) for BTP services.
2. SAP HANA Database

Perform performance analysis and HANA administration for on-premise and HANA Cloud.
Execute DBSQL tasks and manage HANA/Cloud upgrades.
Familiarity with SAP HANA/HANA Cloud security.
3. SAP S/4HANA On-Premises/Cloud

Administration of internal S/4HANA On-Premises and S/4HANA Cloud systems.
Install and upgrade as required for proof-of-concepts.


C. Infrastructure Governance

1. Security and Governance

Implement security scanning (SAST/DAST), secrets management, and compliance policies.
Ensure secure deployment practices across Azure and BTP.
Participate in audit activities.
