Our mission is to modernize complex, data-heavy workflows through intelligent automation, agentic systems, and advanced language model technologies. We are assembling a small, high-impact founding team and are seeking a technical co-founder who wants to build from the ground up, shape the core architecture, and own the long-term technical vision of the company. Role Description This is a part-time founding role for a Co-Founder, CTO / Founding AI Engineer based in Philadelphia, PA, but open to remote. Once we have a solid revenue source we hope to take this full-time. You will serve as the technical cornerstone of the company, leading architecture, development, and deployment of our AI-driven platform in the clinical trials space, while helping design a scalable foundation for future products. You will work directly with the founding business team to translate product and market vision into real, production-grade systems. This role covers everything from early prototyping to production infrastructure, model strategy, and technical hiring. You will define the stack, build core systems, and lead technical decision-making across AI, data, and platform layers. This is a zero-to-one build role for someone who wants true ownership, deep technical influence, and co-founder equity. Own and lead overall technical architecture and product engineering strategy Implement AI/ML solutions including agentic workflows and small language model (SLM) deployments Evaluate and integrate LLM and SLM frameworks, tool use, and orchestration layers Establish engineering best practices, security standards, and deployment workflows Qualifications Strong analytical and systems-level problem-solving skills Proven experience building AI/ML systems in production environments Hands-on experience with: Deep data integration Data transformation pipelines Agentic workflows and orchestration frameworks Machine learning systems Small language models and/or LLM-based architectures Experience designing scalable system architecture and APIs Strong programming experience (such as Python, TypeScript, Go, or similar) Experience with cloud infrastructure and modern data stacks Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Startup mindset: adaptable, execution-focused, and resourceful Preferred Qualifications Experience in healthcare, clinical trials, or regulated data environments Experience with AI agents, tool-use frameworks, or workflow automation systems Background in research, AI, or data science Experience aligning technical decisions with product growth and go-to-market needs Prior startup or founding engineer experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
