Job Description: 
Position title: Back End Engineer
Anticipated Start Date: Likely mid-to-late-august, flexible for earlier
Temp/Temp to hire/ Direct Placement: Temp to hire, 1 year contract then perm.
What equipment will be provided? Laptop will be provided
Safety or Compliance Requirements (PPE, background check, etc.): BG check
Job Duration: 12-month contract, then perm.

Day to day responsibilities:
API Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend APIs using Python and FastAPI (Django experience is a plus).
Platform Enhancements: Build and improve core platform features that serve Sigma's enterprise customers and design partners.
Systems Integration: Work with engineering leads to integrate APIs with external systems (e.g., cloud infrastructure, server configurations, IT automation tools).
Ad Hoc Engineering Tasks: Jump in on short-turnaround items, fix urgent bugs, or test new ideas based on leadership input or customer feedback.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Join calls with PMs and clients to gather technical requirements and translate them into implementation plans.
DevOps Collaboration (Bonus): Support deployment automation and infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and Ansible, if experienced.
Code Reviews & Testing: Write clean, well-documented code and participate in peer reviews. Build unit/integration tests as needed.
Flexible Hours: Be available for weekend or after-hours work as needed in startup-critical moments.
Startup Mentality: Contribute wherever needed – this is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.
Must have skills:
Strong Python experience
Strong FastAPI experience
API Focus:
Heavy involvement in platform APIs
Must be comfortable integrating with external systems and working with infrastructure-focused users (IT, cloud, systems engineers)
3. Self Motivated, energetic, and willing to work in a start up environment
Nice to have skills:
Experience in Django (the company they acquired, Cloud Truth was developed in Django)
Hungry and Driven:
Highly motivated and entrepreneurial
Willing to work weekends/overtime if needed
Adaptable and Versatile:
Comfortable with ad hoc requests and multitasking
Not expected to be a team lead, but must thrive in a startup environment with minimal structure
