Meet the hiring team Joseph Michael 3rd+ Senior Software Engineer Job poster Message About the job About the Company autoLOTO builds electrical safety software that protects electricians from deadly hazards during data center construction. Our digital twin platform automates Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures—the process of safely isolating hazardous energy before work begins. We're deployed across $20B+ in capital construction projects, including major hyperscale data centers. We were named "Lockout Tagout Mobile Automation Software of the Year 2025" by Electrical Business Review. About the Role You'll own this problem end-to-end. This is a greenfield problem. We have a critical challenge, some initial ideas, and real diagrams to work with—but we're open to any approach that works. Responsibilities Evaluate technical approaches (vision LLMs, OCR + rules engines, custom computer vision, hybrid architectures) Design and build a solution that balances accuracy with production constraints Establish metrics and measurement frameworks Ship iteratively, measuring and improving Make technical recommendations that account for safety-critical requirements Qualifications This is not a well-defined role with a spec to implement. You'll have autonomy to make architectural decisions, direct access to domain experts and end users, and accountability for technical outcomes. Required Skills You've shipped AI/ML systems to production beyond proof-of-concept You're comfortable with technical ambiguity and first-principles thinking You evaluate trade-offs systematically and can articulate technical debt decisions You establish measurement frameworks before building You prioritize shipping working solutions over architectural perfection You take safety-critical systems seriously Preferred Skills You're Probably Not a Fit If You need detailed specifications before beginning technical work Your ML experience is limited to using existing tools/APIs You can't articulate how you'd validate your own work You're looking for a clearly scoped role with defined boundaries Computer Vision & OCR Pay range and compensation package Range: $150,000 - $250,000/year based on qualifications. Interview Process Resume review Technical screen (60 min) — Build something, measure it, iterate on it System design (90 min) — Architectural approach to this problem Team fit (60 min) No algorithmic puzzles. We want to see how you approach ambiguous problems and build production systems. Equal Opportunity Statement We are committed to diversity and inclusivity.
