Role Overview

You will lead the AI strategy for our product, working on model evaluation, fine-tuning, data collection, and implementation of AI-powered features. You’ll collaborate with engineers to take AI concepts from research to production while increasing the team’s understanding of language model capabilities and best practices. Your work will directly impact how developers interact with AI-enhanced coding tools.


Key Responsibilities

Define and lead the AI experience within the editor
Evaluate, select, and fine-tune language models for coding-related tasks
Design and implement data collection and evaluation strategies to improve model performance
Develop prompting strategies and evaluation frameworks
Create and maintain testing methodologies for AI features
Collaborate with engineers to bring AI capabilities into production
Mentor and share AI knowledge across the team
Stay up to date with AI research and explore new application opportunities
Participate in code reviews and pair programming sessions


Requirements

Extensive hands-on experience with large language models
Expertise in model evaluation, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning
Experience developing data collection and evaluation strategies
Experience implementing production-grade AI solutions
Strong communication skills and mentoring experience
Passion for developer tools and improving the coding experience
Proficiency in Rust
Enjoyment of pair programming and collaborative workflows


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AI-based code analysis or generation
Background in developer tools or coding environments
Familiarity with modern Rust-based applications
