As the Web Designer/Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the digital presence for this large-scale program that represents a significant portion of the agency's annual award actions. You will manage both the front-end and back-end technologies, ensure Section 508 compliance, and implement cloud-based solutions to enhance the program's digital infrastructure using Drupal CMS and AWS cloud technologies. This position is contingent upon contract award. Work Schedule and Location: Remote: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Will need to occasionally attend meetings at the NSF headquarters in Alexandria, VA. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain web applications for the Graduate Research Fellowship Program Implement both front-end and back-end technologies to create seamless user experiences Manage Drupal CMS development, customization, and deployment in AWS environments Ensure all digital assets comply with Section 508 accessibility standards Develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces for program participants Coordinate with large numbers of public stakeholders to understand user needs Implement DevOps practices for continuous integration and deployment Respond to NSF inquiries and requests within the same business day Work collaboratively with NSF program directors, staff, and IT support on an ongoing basis Communicate effectively with academic individuals such as science faculty and students Optimize web applications for performance, security, and accessibility Document code, systems, and processes according to best practices Additional roles and responsibilities shall be determined by the Contractor Qualifications: Required Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in full-stack web development, both front-end and back-end technologies Experience with cloud platforms and strong expertise in federal web accessibility standards Extensive experience in DevOps of Drupal CMS and deploying enterprise applications in cloud platforms Experience dealing with large numbers of the public, such as grant recipients or association members Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and server-side programming languages Demonstrated ability to implement Section 508 accessibility technical provisions Experience coordinating with government agency staff and responding promptly to requests Ability to communicate effectively with academic individuals including science faculty and students
