Position: The Systems Engineer will be a key member of the IT Infrastructure team, responsible for supporting and enhancing the private cloud environment that powers our SaaS platform for the real estate services industry. This role plays a critical part in the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of systems and services, while also contributing to the implementation of new technologies within our infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a motivated, results-driven professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to take on new challenges and learn emerging technologies. This position requires strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to effectively identify, communicate, and resolve technical issues across a wide range of systems. Due to the nature of our operations, the candidate must reside in Southern California and be within a one-hour commute to our Irvine-based data center. In the event of critical infrastructure issues, this individual will serve as the primary on-site responder and must be available to travel to the data center as needed. Primary Duties: Support all tiers of IT service requests, including basic user assistance and high-level system administration tasks. Manage and maintain a private cloud infrastructure built on Hyper-V Clusters, supporting production, staging, and development environments. Administer Windows servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Exchange hybrid environments. Monitor system performance and availability using enterprise monitoring tools; respond to alerts and incidents promptly. Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and complex infrastructure issues through thorough investigation and troubleshooting. Continuously improve infrastructure security, performance, and scalability in alignment with industry best practices. Manage SAN/NAS storage systems, including provisioning and expanding LUNs for VMs, databases, and file shares. Automate routine tasks and infrastructure management using PowerShell. Implement and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity. Collaborate with DevOps and Development teams to support CI/CD pipelines and application deployments. Maintain documentation for infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents, including on-site support at the data center when required. Able to report to the Irvine Data Center within 1 hour, as needed or when issues arise. Other duties and tasks as assigned. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or administration in a Windows based virtualized environment. Proficiency with Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, and SCCM. Proficient in scripting and automation using PowerShell and Windows batch scripting. Strong experience in design and maintenance of virtualized infrastructures using MS Hyper-V. Hands-on experience with enterprise storage solutions, including LUN provisioning, SAN configuration, and storage networking using technologies such as Fibre Channel and EMC VNX Strong understanding of server backup strategies and data replication technologies. Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Administration. Familiarity with internet networking concepts, MPLS, and storage networking. Working knowledge of remote access technologies, including FTP and VPN solutions. Understanding of information security best practices, including antivirus management and threat mitigation. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile SaaS environment. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Candidate must reside in Southern California and be within a one-hour commute to our Irvine-based data center.
