Alphanumeric is hiring a SOFTWARE ENGINEER to work remotely with our client of 20 years committed to improving lives through medical and pharmaceutical advancements.

Pay Range: $105 - $116.
The Software Engineer will contribute to technological advancement, focusing on the development and support of data-driven applications. This role requires a solid foundation in software engineering with an emphasis on hands-on technical work. The ideal candidate will be involved in the development, deployment, and maintenance of full-stack applications that meet the needs of our scientific user base. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements, assisting in the design of scalable and efficient application architectures, and integrating data analytics tools to enhance application functionality.
The role involves staying updated on current technological trends in application development and software engineering practices, ensuring that applications are reliable and meet evolving demands.
The Software Engineer will also participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure the security and performance of applications. The role encompasses the maintenance and support of existing applications, focusing on high availability, reliability, and optimal performance. The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated ability to work on application development and a strong interest in how data-driven applications can accelerate innovation. Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical, are essential for liaising with stakeholders, including management, IT teams, and scientific personnel, to ensure that technology solutions align with business strategies and scientific objectives.
Must-have Skills experience:
Deep knowledge and experience in front-end technologies: JavaScript, Typescript, React, ReactFlow.
Hands-on experience in full stack technologies: Python as a must-have, additional languages as a strong asset.
API development ability, using technologies and standards like REST/GraphQL/gRPC or similar.
Strong experience with DevOps: (e.g. GitHub, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, IaC experience like Terraform is a strong asset).
Hands-on experience with containerization solutions: Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with code quality/security control tools (e.g. SonarQube or Blackduck).
Hands-on experience in developing and deploying applications in a cloud environment like Google Cloud (preferred), AWS, Azure, including experience in use of PaaS cloud hosting solutions.
Experience with Authentication & Authorization Mechanisms e.g. OAuth2.
Experience with Manual and Automated testing.
Knowledge of database modeling, database concepts and SQL.
Experience in Agile software development and Technical documentation, using common environments such as Jira and Confluence.
Good communication skills. Experience in working with remote teams is a strong asset.
5+ years experience.
Must be able to work W2.
