About the role: The Senior XP Software Developer reports directly to the Head of Technology and Innovation, and will be directly involved in the functions of software development, testing, engineering, architecture, and devops. This role will also bring XP knowledge and experience to the team. This is an independent contributor position, and this person will work within the team, as well as influence processes and tools from an XP perspective, to reach product-led goals and deadlines. Core job responsibilities: Bringing modern software development practices into the team Contributing to the teams collective knowledge around XP practices and continuous workflow Championing XP principles such as collaborative coding, test driven development (TDD), continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), continuous workflow, and cross functional collaboration. Participating in product-led practices such as User Story Mapping, Demos, user feedback, and user experience (UX) Minimum qualifications: 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering/Development in an XP environment, using practices such as: Collaborative Coding (pairing/mobbing) Test-first methodologies using microtests Automated continuous deployment Trunk based development Single piece workflow (WIP limits) Small feedback loops with stakeholders and users Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to grow and maintain relationships - both internally and with customers Proven ability to think strategically, solve problems creatively, and implement solutions Ability to focus on continuous improvement at an individual and team level Preferred qualifications: Experience with Ruby and Rails Experience with Azure Experience with Nextjs
