About the role Fantasy Life, home to industry-leading fantasy sports content, data tools, and the innovative Guillotine Leagues fantasy platform, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own and improve our production release process across our entire product ecosystem. This role will be responsible for reviewing and merging high-impact production pull requests, overseeing deployments, and ensuring smooth, reliable releases for both content-driven and gameplay-focused products. You will work closely with engineering, product, and QA teams, both internal and external, to maintain release discipline during peak sports seasons while continuously improving our deployment practices for year-round efficiency. The right candidate will thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment where code quality, operational stability, and user experience are top priorities. What you'll do Review, approve, and merge production pull requests with an emphasis on code quality, performance, and maintainability. Execute and oversee production deployments, including coordination across engineering, product, and QA teams. Monitor deployments for errors or performance issues and execute rollback procedures when necessary. Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient, reliable, and secure deployments. Enforce coding standards and deployment best practices across the engineering team. Partner with product managers and QA to align release timing with business priorities. Conduct post-deployment reviews to identify and resolve any production issues. Qualifications 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role. Proven experience managing production releases in a high-availability environment. Strong proficiency in our tech stack or a similar environment (React, Node.js, AWS, serverless architecture). Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions) and cloud platforms (AWS). Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally. Experience in gaming, fantasy sports environments. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker).
