You will be working with a highly collaborative and cross-functional Backend Engineering team to deliver and scale core infrastructure components and services that power our robust, high-performance, data-intensive SaaS platform.Work Authorization:Commerce does consider visa sponsorship on a case-by-case basis for certain Engineering, Operations, and IT roles, this specific position has not been approved for work authorization sponsorship.Unfortunately, we are not able to move forward with applicants on an OPT or H1B Visa, this also would include individuals currently applying for their I-140.What You’ll Do:Collaborate on the architecture, design, and development of scalable and highly available applications and servicesSolve complex infrastructure-related problems with code, developing and providing post-release support for scalable applications.Identify and implement enhancements to DevOps practices and tooling, leveraging automation to enhance robustness of the CI/CD pipeline, thereby streamlining efficient application development and deploymentDrive technology design and articulate architecture solution options to the product owners and Engineering leadershipConduct post-mortems to analyze and prevent repeat failuresBe a champion for Continuous Improvement in end-to-end infrastructure and systemsEvaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes that solve concrete business problemsBecome a domain expert who follows industry trends and applies best practices  and contributes towards continuous improvement of those practicesWho Are You:5+ years of programming experience in backend languagesEducation: Preferred Minimum Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, SW, CE, MIS; or equivalent experience or completed either a comprehensive software engineering boot camp2+ years experience with GoLang (Strongly preferred), PHP, Python, Java or a similar programming language2+ years experience with MySQL or a similar technologyStrong understanding of database schema design, caching and scalabilityStrong understanding of various communication protocols (TCP, RPC, etc)Solid understanding of Distributed SystemsExperience in Caching technologies is a plus (e.g. Redis or Memcached)DevOps experience preferredExperience with Full-stack observability tools like New Relic is strongly preferredWorkable understanding of Linux operating systems Experience with modern CI/CD and containerization tools like DockerAbility to perform time and memory complexity analysisExcellent written and verbal communication skillsApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.#LI-GC1#LI-REMOTE(Pay Transparency Range: $112,000.00 - $189,000.00)The exact salary will be dependent on the successful candidate’s location, relevant knowledge, skills, and qualifications.Inclusion and BelongingAt Commerce, we believe that celebrating the unique histories, perspectives and abilities of every employee makes a difference for our company, our customers and our community.
