The Role: We’re seeking a hands-on, impact-driven Senior Software Engineer with deep Python expertise to join our fast-growing team. You’ll design and build the backend infrastructure powering our AI-centric platform, with a focus on real-time systems, microservices, and scalable data processing pipelines. This is a senior-level role with technical ownership across multiple backend services and data flows. You’ll bring strong software engineering fundamentals, a bias for shipping, and a passion for building reliable systems that push the boundaries of AI integration. You’ll collaborate closely with product, frontend, and AI teams to shape the future of our platform. NOTE: Must be a Citizen or Green Card Holder and live in the United States Key Responsibilities: Design and build scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, and WebSocket-based systems Manage and optimize NoSQL-backed data storage for performance and reliability Develop backend services for real-time communication, high-throughput ETL, and cross-service orchestration Implement monitoring, tracing, and alerting for production systems Champion code quality through TDD, CI/CD pipelines, and effective code reviews Collaborate with AI and frontend teams to deliver seamless, AI-powered features Ensure high standards of performance, security, and maintainability Required Experience: 7+ years building production-grade backend systems in Python BS in Computer Science or related field (or 15+ years of overall software engineering experience) Strong experience with microservice-based architectures Built and deployed WebSocket and event-based communication layers Proficient in at least one NoSQL database Solid understanding of best practices in building scalable and performant data access layers (using ORMs and beyond) Experience with production monitoring and observability platforms Track record working in fast-paced startup environments Comfortable leveraging AI tools in the development lifecycle Nice to Haves: Experience with MongoDB at scale Experience building GenAI / LLM-backed products Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques Experience optimizing backends for high concurrency and data throughput Exposure to GraphQL or other modern API paradigms Job Type: Full-time Pay: $125,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Employee assistance program Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance Application Question(s): Will you now or in the future require sponsorship?
