Job Description This is a remote position. About the Role We are seeking a skilled Java Backend Developer to join our team for a digital transformation initiative. This role involves designing and developing scalable microservices using Spring Boot, integrating with React Native warehouse apps and Angular.js dashboards, and providing L2 support in a rotational shift model. The ideal candidate will have strong debugging skills, experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and the flexibility to collaborate with cross-functional teams on development and support activities. Key Responsibilities Development (80%) Design, build, and maintain Java-based microservices using Spring Boot. Develop and integrate backend services with React Native apps (warehouse operations) and Angular.js dashboards. Implement APIs and ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing backend solutions. Work with relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring data consistency and performance. Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms (AWS preferred, but Azure/GCP acceptable). Collaborate with frontend teams, QA, and business stakeholders to deliver features in agile sprints. Support (20%) Provide L2 support for production issues, ensuring timely resolution within SLAs. Debug and troubleshoot application issues, identifying root causes and providing fixes. Debugging skills with any front end technologies is a plus Participate in rotational shift support, including after-hours/weekend coverage if required. Document support runbooks, known issues, and provide knowledge transfer to L1 teams. Requirements Required Skills & Experience 6+ years of professional experience as a Java Backend Developer. Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Microservices architecture. Hands-on experience with Cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure/GCP acceptable). Familiarity with frontend stacks (Angular.js, React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript) for integration purposes. Proficiency in debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting backend applications. Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar). Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar). Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and in a collaborative team. Good to Have Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or messaging systems. Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of logging/monitoring tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch). Previous experience in retail, warehouse, or e-commerce systems. Shift & Support This role requires rotational shifts. Expectation to handle L2 support (20% of time), including incident resolution, debugging, and escalation management.
