This is a great side-gig/part-time opportunity. The ideal candidate combines a sharp eye for modern UI/UX design with the ability to translate layouts into clean, responsive code. Remote · Flexible schedule A bit about the project: We built our internal app on Node.js with Bootstrap 5.3 and a scattering of dynamic HTML components. While the codebase works well, the look and feel is too plain. We’re aiming for a clean, contemporary aesthetic that elevates the entire experience, without breaking our existing functionality. We’ll provide a full page list, current markup, and screenshots to get you started. You don’t have to worry about backend integrations, we’re strictly looking for front-end styling and markup. Here’s what we need from you: Updated CSS (or SCSS) that plugs straight into Bootstrap 5.3, including well-chosen web fonts, a modern color palette, and a sensible system for spacing, borders, and shadows. Lightweight graphic assets or icons where needed—SVG preferred—to replace outdated imagery. Polished HTML snippets for any new or significantly altered components so we can drop them into our existing Pug templates with minimal rewiring. Deliverables should be easy to maintain, bootstrap-friendly, and documented well enough that another dev could pick them up without guesswork. If this sounds like your kind of project, let’s talk timelines and milestones so we can give our app the modern face it deserves. ----- Key Duties & Responsibilities: Design and implement responsive front-end layouts using Bootstrap 5.3 and custom CSS/SASS. Customize and extend Bootstrap components while maintaining framework integrity. Make small edits to EJS templates (loops, includes, HTML structure) as needed. Ensure a seamless user experience across devices (desktop, tablet, and mobile). Translate design concepts into functional, visually polished interfaces. Perform layout adjustments and styling updates directly in code. Collaborate with team members to maintain design consistency. (Optional) Use Git/version control for code collaboration. (Optional) Implement minor interactive elements using JavaScript. Qualifications & Skills Required: Strong UI/UX design experience with a portfolio of modern, responsive websites. Advanced knowledge of CSS/SASS and Bootstrap 5.3. Ability to customize Bootstrap without breaking its structure. Working knowledge of EJS/HTML and ability to make small edits. Proven ability to implement designs directly in code. Understanding of responsive design best practices. English fluency (required). Preferred / Nice to Have: Familiarity with Git/version control. Basic knowledge of JavaScript for minor interactivity. Previous work in a collaborative dev/design environment.
