Job Summary:

Join our customer's team as a Senior Backend Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping our next-generation machine learning infrastructure. You'll have the opportunity to design and build robust, performant APIs using cutting-edge technologies, while collaborating with passionate professionals in a fully remote environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you’ll be integral to translating complex technical requirements into scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable API endpoints for machine learning models using Python and FastAPI.
Implement backend functionalities and services to be deployed on Kubernetes clusters.
Integrate open-source models seamlessly into our API infrastructure.
Partner with frontend engineers to ensure smooth API integration and optimal user experiences.
Optimize backend systems for performance, reliability, and scalability to support high user loads.
Write comprehensive unit tests to uphold code quality and maintainability standards.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies in backend development and machine learning.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Expert proficiency in Python and its ecosystem for backend development.
Extensive experience building RESTful APIs using FastAPI.
Hands-on experience with relational and vector databases.
Ability to develop and manage ML-based backend pipelines.
Strong knowledge of web sockets and multithreading to support real-time interactions.
Proven experience in designing systems to scale and handle concurrent users.
Solid grasp of unit testing principles and experience implementing high-quality test coverage.
Practical experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms (Azure/GCP a plus).
Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of GRPC for service-to-service communication.
Familiarity with IAM (Identity and Access Management) concepts and protocols.
Experience working with generative AI models.
