In this position you will focus on building reliable infrastructure, optimizing performance, and scaling Exodus’s backends. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker with deep backend experience and a passion for creating fast, secure, and scalable software that users never have to think about. What You Will Do Design, build, and evolve the core backend services that power millions of Exodus customers' wallets. Architect scalable systems that are fault-tolerant, performant, and secure. Lead the end-to-end delivery of backend projects from inception to production. Champion engineering excellence by writing clean, testable, and maintainable code, and setting standards for service reliability and performance. Make smart, technical decisions that support our long-term vision while solving today’s challenges. Collaborate closely with product, security, and frontend teams to deliver seamless, resilient user experiences. Who You Are You have 5+ years of experience building and maintaining backend systems in production. You’re a Javascript Pro. You’ve designed and deployed scalable, reliable infrastructure using cloud-native technologies (e.g., AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform). You write clean, well-tested, and observable code, and advocate for best practices across engineering teams. You care deeply about security, performance, and delivering an excellent customer experience. You thrive in a remote, async-first environment and are self-directed and highly accountable. A Plus Experience working in crypto  Familiarity with payment systems, wallets, or blockchain infrastructure. Strong understanding of distributed systems and networking fundamentals. Contributions to open-source projects or experience maintaining public APIs. Prior experience mentoring or leading small teams of engineers.
