Our remote-first tools lets you control your cameras from anywhere in the world.About the RoleWe are seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our Encoder team. In this role, you will work on edge-deployed software that runs on-site and on-device, focusing primarily on Go and Rust development. You will be responsible for completing large, complex projects from end to end, working within the constraints of both embedded systems and high-resource systems with demanding requirements.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain software for edge-deployed systems using Go and RustWork on projects from conception to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverablesWork with the complexities of high quality and high performance video systems and the realities of the internetCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including ML Engineers, to integrate AI modules with specific requirements and constraintsContribute to the overall architecture and design of the Iris PlatformStay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the fieldRequirementsProven experience as a Senior Software Engineer or similar roleStrong proficiency in Go and Rust programming languagesExperience with embedded systems, robotics, and/or PTZ cameras is highly desirableFamiliarity with React and TypeScript for understanding and occasionally contributing to frontend developmentExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think criticallyStrong communication and collaboration skills for working effectively in a small, remote teamPassion for innovation and the ability to take ownership of complex projectsAbout YouYou have a genuine passion for computer science and software engineering, and you enjoy working on personal projects outside of workYou are proactive in staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the fieldYou have a diverse range of interests and can bring a unique perspective to problem-solving and innovationYou understand the challenges and opportunities associated with working in a small, fast-paced startup environmentYou are comfortable with increased autonomy, wider job expectations, and the need to be flexible and adaptable in a rapidly changing environmentThe OpportunityAt Iris, we're building a lean, highly skilled team that values autonomy and innovation.
