House Numbers is transforming inefficient, outdated processes in a slow-moving sector with an AI-powered mortgage loan processing service that delivers 50%+ cost savings, faster response times, and a shorter time to close, without requiring brokers or lenders to change their existing systems. Starting with independent brokers, our pay-per-loan pricing model allows us to scale profitably while still deeply undercutting the standard third party processing fees. We are backed by leading Silicon Valley venture‑capital funds and angel investors, including Resolute Ventures, Maven Ventures, and Uncommon Capital. About the role As a Senior Full‑Stack Engineer on a small team, you’ll join a fast‑moving group where every engineer owns meaningful product surface area. Demand for our AI‑assisted processing platform is accelerating, and we’re expanding the engineering team to build new customer‑facing features and keep our infrastructure resilient as we scale. We’re looking for someone who is excited about owning the entire development of product flows and features across our codebase. You’ll help decide the patterns and practices adopted company‑wide and touch every part of the development process—shipping production‑ready code daily, actively shaping the product roadmap, spotting and addressing process improvements, coding with TDD/BDD, following agile methodologies based on the team needs, and driving the changes needed to keep us moving quickly and safely. Our tech stack includes: - Frontend: Remix, React, Typescript, and Tailwind - Backend: Node / Express, Mongo, Docker, Kubernetes clusters (EKS), CI/CD on CircleCI, infrastructure on AWS using ECR and ECS, LLMs on OpenAI and Orq. Bonus points Containerization & orchestration knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) Observability skills (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana) Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform) Experience in mortgage‑tech / fintech or other regulated domains A master of using AI-enabled tools to increase your productivity as an engineer (Cursor, obviously, and more!), while maintaining code quality Responsibilities of the role Partner with Product, Operations and Design to drive roadmap and execution. Develop and iterate quickly based on user feedback, quantitative metrics, experience and intuition. Push the limits of LLM and ML capabilities (including agentic AI) to automate loan processing workflows, enabling us to deliver a better quality service more and more efficiently over time. Evolve our technology and architecture for the challenges ahead. Maintain and support high-quality and reliable services. Continuously deliver small, high-quality changes to production. What we're looking for Significant, relevant experience with Node/JavaScript/TypeScript. We won't set an arbitrary number of required years of experience here, but you must be a senior developer comfortable across all software development lanes and have broad problem solving skills. Significant, hands‑on experience embedding LLMs into production apps (prompt design, evals and version control, retrieval‑augmented generation, vector stores, etc.) or deploying ML models/services. Someone who is highly productive and has contributed a significant amount of code to a new project -- either at a startup or within a larger organization -- in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment. Promote testing as a natural part of your coding efforts. Experience solving distributed architectural challenges. You should be excited to have a lot of impact and responsibility. We do not sign off and forget about work for the entire weekend when something important needs to be done. :) Someone approachable and friendly, who has strong communication skills. Though we are a multi-lingual team — Spanish, English, Portuguese, and more — full English fluency and comfort is required. We love over-communication and prioritize collaboration, pair programming and code review. A positive, relaxed and curious approach to solving problems. A true team-player with no ego. Someone willing to give 100% (or more!) of their professional efforts to the company, i.e., no moonlighting allowed, please. Culture We cultivate a strong sense of ownership, resilience, teamwork, motivation, and a no-job-is-beneath-me attitude -- of course, we hold everyone at the company to this same standard. You are biased toward data-driven decision-making, but also have an ability to manage ambiguity with strong, well-reasoned hypotheses when data is not available. You have a positive, relaxed and curious approach to solving problems. You’re a true team-player with no ego. Fix the problem, not the blame. Share the credit. Give away your legos. All that stuff! We believe in creating a supportive work environment, where everyone can thrive and feel comfortable voicing contradictory opinions and making mistakes when acting with good intentions. We’re all in this together, and we try to act that way at all times. We believe in what we’re doing and that this is the highest potential opportunity we’ll ever have in our careers, so we work very hard and really care about executing well to seize this opportunity. We also want to enjoy work and be surrounded by smart, friendly people. Benefits Competitive market salary Generous equity grants. All early employees should make life-changing money from their stock if the company achieves its goals. Fully remote work from anywhere. However, you must work enough overlapping hours daily to facilitate collaboration with team members in the US (EST), the UK, Portugal, Brazil and Colombia. Silicon Valley network. We hope and expect House Numbers to be wildly successful and the last company we ever work for. But, if it’s not, our network can help connect you to future startup opportunities. Flexible work hours and PTO In the future, as we grow, we expect to offer more traditional benefits like health insurance, team off-sites, bonuses, fitness stipends, and more.
