Job Title: Remote Software Engineer (Java/API Development Focus)

Location: Remote (U.S.-based)

Duration: 12-month contract

Type: Full-time contractor

Overview:

We’re seeking a Remote Software Engineer with strong Java and API development experience for a 12-month contract. This role is fully remote and open to candidates anywhere in the U.S.

You’ll be working on refactoring existing codebases, building and optimizing APIs, supporting critical software components, and contributing to design discussions. This position is ideal for someone who’s hands-on with backend development and comfortable collaborating and problem-solving within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Refactor and optimize code for better structure and performance
Develop and maintain critical libraries and reusable components
Review and collaborate on code with teammates
Actively participate in software design discussions
Build unit tests, integration tests, and conduct performance/scalability testing
Document technical designs, data flows, and application interfaces
Define technical requirements and create integration plans
Contribute to long-term technology planning and roadmaps

Qualifications:

Solid experience with Java and API development
Strong understanding of software architecture and system dependencies
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
Experience designing testing strategies and running non-functional tests
Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration
Preferred Qualifications:

Interest in or exposure to blockchain technologies
Experience with React, Python, and Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)
