Job Summary The Mapping and Planning Team is responsible for building the tools and systems that are used to build and maintain our maps to support our autonomy systems. Whether automating quality checks, building integrations with external service providers, or building upon our suite of mapping tools our group has numerous ways to make their mark. Members of this tight-knit group act as a force multiplier, increasing the efficiency and productivity of our Field Autonomy Engineering teams.   Essential Responsibilities Build full-stack systems that are highly responsive, scalable and resilient. Lead design and development of tooling to support online map processes. Lead design and development of AWS infrastructure. Build robust Linux GUI applications that are performant and provide high quality experiences. Provide a strong example of ownership of the projects in which they are involved. Conduct regular code reviews with team members and promote a culture of developing quality software. Manage documentation, quality of team code, processes, and best practices. Build and expand libraries and APIs for managing map data and map files. Partner with our vehicle autonomy, operations, and platform teams to improve performance and address mapping software needs across the organization. Mentor software engineers to help them progress professionally. Be the driving force for adoption of frontend and backend Web and mobile frameworks, and identify opportunities to modernize existing experiences.
