JOB SUMMARY As a Lead Mobile Software Engineer, you will drive the technical vision and development of our mobile applications, which are critical components of our in-house EMR system and patient care solutions. You'll architect and lead the mobile development team in creating robust, user-friendly, and high-performance applications.. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and microservice engineering teams to ensure our mobile solutions are scalable, secure (HIPAA compliant), and provide an exceptional user experience. A key part of this role involves managing the full lifecycle of our mobile apps, including deployment to the App Store and managing beta user groups through TestFlight. WHAT ARE YOUR ASSIGNMENTS Define the overall mobile architecture and technical strategy for our mobile applications, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices. Lead and mentor a team of mobile engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Architect and develop mobile applications using cross-platform solutions like ReactNative or Flutter, as well as iOS-native use cases using Swift. Manage the deployment process for iOS applications to the Apple App Store, including submission, review, and release. Administer and manage beta testing programs using TestFlight, including user group management and build distribution. Implement and champion best practices in mobile development, including UI/UX design principles, performance optimization, and code quality. Ensure robust security practices and compliance (e.g., data encryption, HIPAA, audit trails) are implemented and maintained within all mobile applications. Collaborate with microservice teams to define and integrate with APIs and ensure seamless data flow. Oversee, working closely with a DevOps engineer, the implementation of CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications, automated testing (unit, integration, UI), and observability (crash reporting, analytics). Collaborate with data scientists and AI specialists to integrate machine learning capabilities into mobile platforms where appropriate. Act as the technical liaison for mobile-related decisions and integrations across multiple teams. WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY ACHIEVED 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role focused on mobile development. Proven experience in architecting and delivering complex mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms. Deep expertise in ReactNative and Flutter for cross-platform development. Strong proficiency in native iOS development using Swift and its associated frameworks (e.g., UIKit, SwiftUI). Extensive experience with deploying applications to the iOS App Store and a thorough understanding of the submission and review guidelines. Demonstrable experience managing beta testing programs and user groups via TestFlight. ATTRIBUTES NEEDED FOR THE ROLE Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and a passion for creating intuitive and engaging user experiences. Hands-on expertise with mobile-specific CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and mobile observability tools. Experience with integrating mobile applications with backend services via RESTful APIs, GraphQL, etc. Solid understanding of mobile security best practices and data protection. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Prior exposure to healthcare software, EMR systems, and HIPAA compliance is a strong plus. Prior exposure to Microsoft Intune for organizationally-managed device deployment is a strong plus.
