You will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of our automation platform. This role involves managing 2–3 additional developers (contract or full-time), collaborating with stakeholders across the business, and executing against a roadmap that includes document automation, data collection, AI-powered document parsing, and CRM + LOS system integrations. This is a hands-on leadership role designed for someone with both strategic and tactical capabilities. Core Responsibilities Design and lead the technical architecture of the mortgage automation platform Develop and maintain key modules, including: Point-of-sale loan application workflows Smart document request and secure upload modules OCR/AI-powered document review and categorization tools CRM (GoHighLevel) and LOS integrations Evaluate and select appropriate technologies (e.g., Firebase, Zapier, Webflow, Bubble, AWS, Google Vision API, OpenAI) Manage development sprints, QA cycles, testing, and release cadence Create and maintain technical documentation and system logic diagrams Build and lead a small team of software developers and coordinate external vendors or contractors as needed Ensure that development practices align with data security, privacy, and compliance standards Serve as the primary technical point of contact to the operations, compliance, and executive leadership teams Key Projects You Will Own A dynamic loan application interface with conditional logic based on employment and loan type Integration of document intake and upload modules with secure cloud storage and CRM tagging An AI-assisted document parser that reads and extracts financial data from PDFs and image uploads A borrower and internal dashboard for document tracking and file status A bi-directional data sync between CRM and LOS platforms using APIs and rules-based governance Qualifications Minimum Requirements: 3+ years of hands-on software development experience (preferably in fintech or automation environments) Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React, Firebase, and RESTful API development Demonstrated experience with low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Webflow, Bubble, Zapier, Make) Expertise in workflow automation, data integration, and third-party API consumption Experience with OCR/AI platforms such as Google Vision, Amazon Textract, or OpenAI models Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into development tasks Preferred Qualifications: Background in mortgage or financial services, especially with CRM or LOS platforms (e.g., GoHighLevel, Encompass) 1+ years in a technical leadership role with responsibility for managing people, roadmaps, and delivery Experience developing secure document management systems Familiarity with modern CI/CD, QA, and test automation practices Knowledge of compliance considerations for PII and financial data Performance Expectations Timely and budget-aligned delivery of major modules and features High system uptime and low error rates post-deployment Strong cross-functional collaboration with internal business stakeholders Active mentorship and development of junior engineering staff Scalable architecture that supports future integrations and product growth Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience and technical capability Performance-based bonus structure tied to roadmap delivery and impact Flexible remote-first work environment with regular team collaboration Opportunity to define and build systems from the ground up alongside experienced operators and industry professionals Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $65,000.00 per year Benefits: Flextime Professional development assistance Work from home Work Location: Remote
