Overview:

The overall role for the Java Developer is to deliver quality based working software adhering to Test Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices and Agile development methodology. As a Java Developer, you will be working on our back-end systems using Open Source technologies and delivering working software at the end of each 2 week sprint.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop quality-based server-side Java code
Use a test-driven development approach using JUnit framework, Unit Tests and UAT
Implement software that conforms to scalability, availability and performance criteria
Work closely with the product owner to estimate your sprints to increase velocity without compromising quality
Release a new working feature every sprint to be reviewed in the customer feedback loop
Participate in daily sprint stand-ups to identify issues and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
Track and enter your time daily in the time accounting system

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

3+ years’ experience developing Java-based REST APIs and integrating with external third party REST and SOAP-based APIs
3+ years’ experience in software development as a back-end engineer building interoperable systems; financial services, payments, financial transaction or other mobile commerce systems preferred
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
Experience implementing and managing a scalable Java-based middleware solution based on AWS or other similar cloud hosting providers using Docker containers.
Experience with accessing and querying PostGRES, MySQL, and Mongo databases.
Experience with PHP preferred, but not required
Micro-services architecture experience
Experience with using Git, forking and various branching strategies, and working in collaborative online environment
Experience with using Postman, and/or other tools for testing and documenting APIs
TYK Gateway experience preferred
Experience using QA tools for unit and regression tests
Experience on L/Unix and open source stacks preferred
Design patterns such as GOF that support the architecture required to build scalable, maintainable, secure, reliable robust mobile ecosystems
Experience with the following:
Java, J2EE, Spring (Core/MVC), RESTful API's. JUnit, XSD, WSDL, XML, SoapUI, Web Services, HTML, JavaScript
Version control tools such as Git and collaborative branching strategies
Database tools: SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle
Agile process and Scrum, Sprints, etc.
Working experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools: Nomad or Kubernates, Concourse, Docker
Experience with FinTech industry a plus
English speaking, US Time zone Central time work-hours
