You will be responsible for designing and implementing high-performance server-side logic, RESTful APIs, and backend architecture that powers AllRoomie’s international housing and appointment scheduling platform. Working closely with frontend engineers and product designers, your contributions will be critical in building scalable, secure, and efficient web applications that serve thousands of users across the U.S., U.K., and beyond. Duties Develop and maintain backend components using Java and Spring Boot, focusing on reliability and performance. Design and implement microservices architecture for scalable, modular applications. Collaborate with frontend teams (Vue/React) to integrate user-facing elements with backend logic. Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following industry best practices. Implement unit and integration tests to ensure system quality and uptime. Design and optimize SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) queries and data access layers. Leverage Redis, message queues, and middleware to support caching and async workflows. Optimize performance and ensure scalability on AWS or other cloud infrastructure. Monitor and debug live systems to identify and resolve production issues quickly.Qualifications Proficient in back-end programming languages including Node.js, ASP, and TypeScript. Strong understanding of ADO.NET for data handling. Experience with CSS for styling web applications is a plus. Familiarity with microservices architecture and its implementation. Knowledge of AWS services for deploying and managing applications in the cloud. Proven experience in software development with a focus on unit testing practices. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Required Qualifications 3+ years of professional backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot. Familiarity with microservices design, RESTful APIs, and backend best practices. Strong knowledge of relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and ADO.NET-style data access patterns. Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, etc.). Knowledge of MVC architectural principles and backend API lifecycle management. Proven experience in unit testing, code versioning (Git), and CI/CD practices. Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional and remote-friendly team. Self-driven with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Bonus Skills (Strongly Preferred) Chinese Mandarin skill in speaking, writing, listening is strongly preferred. Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, or ASP.NET in production environments. Familiarity with CSS or Tailwind for full-stack developers. Experience working in fast-paced startups or proptech/SaaS platforms.
