BDR is seeking a Development Lead/Software Engineer to join our growing team! This position will be performed virtually from the individual’s home office working on EST time schedule. This position requires US Citizenship with a Public Trust or the ability to obtain one. (Military Veterans and HUBZone candidates are highly encouraged to apply) Role Overview: We are actively seeking a Development Lead/Software Engineer to support our government client. The development lead/software engineer will be instrumental in helping to create new platforms and functionality. They will operate in a modern cloud environment where they will help to create web-based search applications. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain software applications Write clean and maintainable code following industry standards Oversee system administration tasks such as deployments and management Collaborate with scientists, developers, and stakeholders to ensure user-friendly software Required Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years in software development, preferably 2+ years in a lead role Masters Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or other related field 5+ years of development experience with; Java, Python, R, Perl, C/C++, HTML, XML, JSON and SQL Proficient with large datasets and databases to include, SQL and MongoDB Ability to work independently as well as on a team Demonstrated ability to adapt to performing a variety of duties, changing from one task to another of a different nature, without a loss of efficiency or composure Must have the ability to take initiative and be detail-orientated in a goal-orientated environment In addition, U.S Citizenship is required.
