This role leads application architecture and lifecycle management, ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient systems that align with business goals. The ideal candidate plays a key role in driving cross-functional alignment, reducing silos, and delivering scalable, efficient, and secure solutions. The Developer – Core Banking Applications & Delivery will have a strong background in database development and maintenance, performance tuning, data modeling, and complex data extraction with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams. Database Development & Management Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers Analyze and troubleshoot performance issues in SQL queries and database systems Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational standards Design and implement data models, schemas, and database objects to support application and reporting needs Document database structures, processes, and best practices Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment of database changes Data Engineering & ETL Develop and maintain ETL processes to support data integration, extraction, and transformation Design and implement scalable data ingestion pipelines into Data Lake to support enterprise analytics and reporting Develop ETL processes to extract data from various sources and load it into the data lake Manage data partitioning, cataloging, and lifecycle policies to optimize storage and query performance Cloud & Infrastructure (AWS) Develop and maintain cloud-native applications on AWS Monitor and troubleshoot cloud services to ensure high availability and performance Promote application standardization, automation, and continuous improvement, including cloud migration and cost-effective solutions Enterprise Application Strategy & Governance Establish and oversee enterprise application strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, IT infrastructure, and security standards Evaluate and recommend technologies, trends, and innovations; conduct research, proof of concepts, and risk analyses to support informed decision-making Ensure application systems are current, stable, secure, and meet high availability and redundancy standards Support budgeting, lifecycle planning, and procurement processes for applications, ensuring alignment with strategic goals Participate in project management, special initiatives, and continuous evaluation of applications for improvements and strategic alignment Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with data analysts, vendors, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions Consult with business units on requirements, system capabilities, issue resolution, and technical problem-solving Documentation Prepare and maintain technical specifications and documentation to support system reliability and knowledge transfer Required Qualifications An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Technical Skills Experience with SQL, ETL, performance tuning, HTML, XML, JSON, JavaScript Experience with batch processing, scripting, and automation Experience with Windows/AIX/Linux Tools & Platforms Experience with Core-Banking systems, OpCon, and Hyland OnBase Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management of Information Systems, or a related field Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, other Cloud Certifications) 3+ years of experience in software development and delivery, enterprise systems design, or related technical leadership roles Technical Skills 3+ years of experience in SQL development, database management, and optimizing advanced queries Understanding of relational database design, normalization, and indexing Experience with performance tuning and query optimization Familiarity with data warehousing concepts Tools & Platforms Experience with enterprise reporting tools, database platforms, or cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Power BI) Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Access Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s) A representation of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this job competently.
