Job Description: Overview:We are seeking a Database Engineer to manage and optimize our data infrastructure, ensuring integrity, security, and accessibility. This role supports BI teams, database performance, and data governance while collaborating on efficient architectures for analytics and reporting.Job Responsibilities:Data Management & IntegrityMaintain and oversee data storage, organization, and retrieval processes to ensure accuracy and consistency.Implement data governance policies to uphold data integrity and security.Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal data management policies.Ability to work with engineering and BI teams supporting the design and develop efficient database architecturesBusiness Intelligence & Reporting SupportCollaborate with BI teams to optimize data models, views, and queries for reporting and analytics.Assist in preparing datasets for visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and ensure efficient data access for analysts.Support data analysts in extracting and interpreting business data for reporting needs.Performance Monitoring & OptimizationMonitor data availability, accuracy, and performance to ensure efficient workflows.Identify and address data quality issues, inconsistencies, and missing values.Ensure seamless data access for analysts and stakeholders while optimizing database queries and structures.Documentation & SupportMaintain detailed documentation of data sources, processes, and governance policies.Provide end-user support and training to ensure proper data usage and interpretation.Assist in troubleshooting data-related issues and support resolution efforts. Requirements:3+ years of experience in data analysis, data administration, or database management.Experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices including Redshift & Snowflake Experience Nice to Have:Experience with data build tooling concepts and implementationCreate and manage data models, schemas, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.Understand the inner workings and complexities of the cannabis industry including ERP, supply chain, and retail / wholesale processes.Familiarity with AWS cloud-based architectureOur Benefits:Paid time off (PTO) including 8 paid holidays per year*Medical Insurance, which includes a 100% company paid option for employees*Dental Insurance, which includes a 100% paid option for employees*Vision Insurance, which includes a 100% paid option for employees *401k retirement savings plan*Company paid Short-Term & Long-Term disability*Company paid Life Insurance*Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Employee referral programCommuter benefits*Product discountsAdditional compensation incentives (tips, bonuses, etc.)*For full-time positions onlyWe want our story to be one that fosters an inclusive culture and provides an enriching employee experience.
