Job Description

The Backend Developer will support the development and implementation of backend services and integrations for the Next Generation Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) platform for DMA. This role is responsible for building scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that power the platform's core functions, ensuring compliance with government standards and seamless integration with other systems and services.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain server-side components, APIs, and integrations supporting the AEM platform.
• Collaborate with AEM architects, frontend developers, and DevSecOps engineers to implement backend functionality aligned with business and security requirements.
• Implement custom workflows, services, and system integrations using Java and OSGi frameworks within the AEM ecosystem.
• Ensure secure coding practices and compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards (STIGs, RMF, etc.).
• Support database interactions, RESTful services, and middleware connections with external systems.
• Participate in Agile development cycles, code reviews, and backlog grooming activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend performance, scalability, and security issues.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of backend development experience, including 2+ years with Adobe AEM or similar enterprise CMS
• Proficiency in Java, Apache Sling, OSGi, and RESTful API development
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity standards, secure coding, and DevSecOps principles
• Strong understanding of system integration, data modeling, and authentication protocols
• Experience in Agile environments and collaborative development teams
• Knowledge of AWS GovCloud, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus
