You will work at the heart of our AI initiatives - developing custom models, integrating with third-party AI services (like OpenAI, Anthropic), and architecting the data pipelines that feed these systems. You’ll collaborate with data analysts, product managers, and engineers to ensure data quality, model performance, and AI reliability. If you’re passionate about turning raw data into real-world intelligence, this role is for you. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and deploy machine learning and AI models for tasks such as recommendation, classification, NLP, and prediction Develop and maintain ETL pipelines and data infrastructure to support training and inference workflows Optimize and monitor models for performance, scalability, and accuracy in production environments Work with structured and unstructured data, ensuring cleanliness, normalization, and readiness for modeling Integrate external AI services (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, Pinecone, LangChain) and fine-tune pre-trained models when necessary Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business and product requirements into scalable AI solutions Participate in code reviews, documentation, and technical design discussions Stay current on emerging AI/ML technologies and recommend improvements to tools, practices, and frameworks Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field 3–6 years of experience in software development, with at least 2+ years focused on AI/ML model development Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML libraries Experience building and maintaining data pipelines Familiarity with vector databases, embedding models, and LLM orchestration Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems Experience working with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure), especially tools like SageMaker, Lambda, or Vertex AI Strong debugging, performance optimization, and system design skills Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in agile teams Nice to Have Experience with LLM fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or prompt engineering Background in NLP, computer vision, or deep learning Familiarity with MLOps tools like MLflow, Weights & Biases, or SageMaker Pipelines Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) Exposure to data governance, privacy, and ethical AI considerations About Us BetterTracker is a fast-growing SaaS platform built by Channel Program, Maryland's Emerging Technology Company of the Year, headquartered in Annapolis, MD.
