Location: New York, New York, 10012 | Salary: £269,100 - £307,200 annual



A leading financial services organisation known for its innovation in digital banking is looking for a Distinguished AI Engineer. This role involves developing responsible and reliable AI systems that deliver real-time, personalised customer experiences. You will join the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team to build proprietary solutions that scale across the entire business.



What you'll be doing

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products for associates and customers

• Design and deploy software components for foundation model training and LLM inference

• Leverage technologies including AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, and PyTorch

• Invent LLM optimization techniques to improve system scalability, cost, and latency

• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems



What we're looking for

• Proven ability to design and build large-scale production AI systems

• Expertise in applying state-of-the-art LLM optimization and evaluation techniques

• Experience with similarity search, guardrails, and model observability frameworks

• Ability to translate scientific research into functional production applications

• Strong commitment to building high-performance, responsible AI infrastructure
