Responsibilities
Co-own architecture for APIs, data pipelines, multi-tenant systems, and analytics platforms
Design and build scalable REST, GraphQL, and event-driven services
Develop high-volume, real-time data pipelines with strong validation and observability
Align system design with security frameworks such as NIST 800-53, DoD IL, and FedRAMP
Contribute to accreditation readiness by supporting compliance and documentation efforts
Enhance developer experience through API platforms, documentation, and onboarding workflows
Implement API lifecycle management including versioning, migration, and deprecation strategies
Integrate third-party systems, models, and simulations into production environments
Collaborate with product, security, DevOps, QA, and external partners
Mentor engineers and promote best practices in reliability, scalability, and system design

5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on API platforms or enterprise integrations
2+ years of experience owning significant architectural scope
Experience building RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and event-driven systems
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (API Gateway, Lambda, EKS)
Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
Programming experience in Java, Kotlin, or Python
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB
Understanding of API security, rate limiting, and secrets management
Experience integrating AI/ML or LLM capabilities into production systems
Strong communication skills and ability to work across distributed teams
Preferred
Experience implementing compliance controls such as NIST 800-53, DoD IL, or FedRAMP
Experience working in startup or product-driven environments
Frontend experience (e.g., React) for developer tooling interfaces
Experience working with DevOps/SRE teams and observability tools
Experience with QA processes including contract and end-to-end testing
Experience integrating complex external systems or simulation technologies
Experience in aerospace or related industries
