Reporting to the Head of Data, the Data Engineer, alongside fellow team members, helps to build our enterprise data platform using modern technologies. We are looking for a strong technical individual who is curious, collaborative, and eager to be a trusted partner across teams.   This is an individual contributor role on a small, high-impact team. We’re seeking an experienced professional who thrives in a high-ownership, high-autonomy environment and is excited to contribute hands-on while continuing to grow. Role and Responsibilities: Participate and contribute to design sessions and code review sessions. Configure and manage data ingestion tools such as data factory, stitch, azure synapse etc. Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture using python and SQL. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, designing smoothly scalable infrastructure Build and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines using cutting edge analytics engineering approach and techniques. Build and support enterprise BI models using Microsoft Power BI Work with business users and stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data needs. Explain complex technical concepts and insights to non-technical cross functional team members Requirements Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve an organizational goal ideally in an agile environment Insurance and/or re-insurance data experience is required, including experience with cession statements data and ceded premium concepts Well-developed SQL and Python coding skills Substantial experience in Azure platform services or equivalent, such as Snowflake or Big Query Strong hands-on experience in modern BI and analytics tools such as Power BI or equivalent Approachable personality and experienced building strong cross functional rapports with business counter parts, and leveraging people skills for smooth project execution
