This position blends software development with infrastructure expertise to architect highly scalable, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems.You'll thrive in this role if you're passionate about solving complex operational challenges and possess comprehensive knowledge of interconnected systems and services. Your collaborative nature and ability to translate technical concepts across disciplines will be key to turning strategic initiatives into realityWhat you’ll do Design and implement automated solutions to enhance system reliability and service stability through process optimization and re-engineeringDeploy and maintain hybrid infrastructure across physical and cloud environments, ensuring optimal delivery of compute, storage, and network resourcesEstablish and monitor Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to maintain production service health and performance standardsCreate and maintain deployment tools and platforms that enable engineering teams to efficiently release services to productionCollaborate with development teams to implement operational best practices, enabling service ownership and reducing operational overheadMentor colleagues through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and professional development supportStay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices through continuous learning, professional development, and community engagementThe experience you bring8+ years of hands-on experience in network automation engineering with a proven track record of delivering production solutionsPassion for automation and solving complex technical challengesAdvanced proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Go, Bash) and automation tools including Ansible, Terraform, Git Actions, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelinesProduction experience with enterprise network hardware from Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, and Mist including both wired and wireless L2/L3 equipmentComprehensive understanding of networking protocols including BGP, ISIS, MC-LAG, TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, and experience with both IPv4 and IPv6 implementationsDemonstrated experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and their automation servicesWorking knowledge of LAN technologies (VLANs, 802.1Q, 802.3ad) and optical networking (DWDM, SFP variants, fiber optics)Experience implementing integrated RADIUS authentication across network access systems including Global Protect VPN, ZTP, wireless controllers, and 802.1X switch port accessProficiency with network management tools including PanoramaExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teamsDemonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and lead incident response effortsComfort with iterative development practices including frequent testing and deployment cyclesIt’s exciting if you also haveFamiliarity with Cloudflare DNS management and traffic routing configurationsJQL experience for advanced Jira searches and dashboard creationExperience working with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, etc.)Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to Equal Employment Opportunities guidelines.All legitimate Magic Leap email communications will end with "@magicleap.com".
