Position Summary As a Sr Software Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role within a collaborative team, focusing on the design, delivery, and operation of vital distributed systems. We are seeking passionate and positive individuals with strong technical skills and a drive to create and maintain innovative solutions. Required Qualifications 5+ or more years of experience in Software Development working with a mix of front and back end technologies in a product oriented, cross functional engineering team Strong foundation in software engineering: problem solving, data structures, algorithms, patterns, concurrency. Hands on experience with a number of programming languages including but not limited to: C#, .NET, Java, and frontend frameworks such as Angular or React. Experience using full-stack development to ship and operate large-scale systems. Strong SQL skills and understanding of RDBMS such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL. A strong understanding of Microservice architecture. Experience with distributed systems design, implementation and operation at scale. Strong experience with version control (Git) Experience with Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies Clear and effective communication. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience. Strong experience with the following technologies: C#, kafka, API contracts, docker, kubernetes, infrastructure as code, terraform. Software development experience using React with Typescript. Strong experience with MS SQL Server, Postgres or equivalent relational databases. Experience with an Application and Performance Monitoring platform. Ex: New Relic. Familiarity with cloud vendors: Azure, AWS or GCP. Experience establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Experience with TDD and testing frameworks. Experience doing Agile spikes on new ideas, and once decisions are made helping to carry out the implementation. Strong understanding of architecture principles, object-oriented design principles, and database design and implementation Education Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience) Ability to travel up to 20% or as needed. Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $92,700.00 - $185,400.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. Does anyone else feel like going into corporate was mistake? I would say overall, respect for employees is at a all-time low from the big companies. Benefits continue to be cut. No one is safe from the layoff knife. Surplus of people from parents pushing kids into college and corporate. Outsourcing jobs. Hiring is challenging as companies have a massive pool of candidates to look at.
