📋 Description
• DSFederal Inc is seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to support enterprise application modernization initiatives within a secure federal IT environment.
• This position is responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality software development across full-stack web applications, with a focus on maintainability, performance, and secure design.
• The Software Developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement user-centric features, troubleshoot issues, and deliver iterative enhancements that support evolving business and technical requirements.
• The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong Agile delivery experience, and a clear understanding of modern development tools, frameworks, cloud technologies, and secure coding practices.
• This is a development-facing role that requires a broad understanding of full lifecycle software engineering, Agile delivery principles, and DevSecOps integration within enterprise IT systems.
• This is a Contingent Position.

🎯 Requirements
• Minimum of 7 years of full-stack development experience supporting enterprise-scale IT systems, preferably in regulated environments involving federal or health-focused agencies.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing applications using Oracle APEX, Java, Spring Boot, and Angular, with an emphasis on building scalable microservices and secure web applications.
• Proven experience implementing business rules engines (Drools), database-driven workflows, and user-centered interface enhancements across modular applications.
• Experience contributing to Agile software development lifecycles, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and iterative delivery of software increments in cross-functional Scrum teams.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tooling—including version control (Git), automated build tools (Gradle, Jenkins), and containerization (Docker)—to enable CI/CD pipelines in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Practical knowledge of integrating enterprise systems via APIs, securing applications with role-based access controls (RBAC), and adhering to authentication standards such as SSO/TLS/SSL.
• Hands-on experience delivering systems in compliance with federal security and accessibility standards, including NIST 800-53, FISMA, and Section 508.
• Previous experience supporting documentation requirements and lifecycle artifacts in alignment with frameworks like the Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC).
• Ability to collaborate with testers, functional analysts, and project leads to resolve system issues, interpret requirements, and enhance technical capabilities aligned with evolving user needs.
