You will be responsible for owning, designing and delivering highly scalable software working along-side a world-class team. This is an ideal role for an engineer who is ready to make an impact on the future of science and data. This person will report to the Director of AI and Engineering.As Senior Software Engineer, you will:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain REST APIs at scaleBuild resilient infrastructure for serving data at scale and with high availabilityDrive technical planning and contribute to the overall engineering strategyDevelop and maintain continuous integration and deployment processesWork on innovative and cutting edge solutions for advanced and challenging data storiesBe involved in code reviews, unit testing and development strategies in an agile environmentInfluence culture, recruit new engineers, and shape a rapidly growing startupHelp shape our engineering culture, contributing to best practices and lessons you’ve learned throughout your careerThe ideal candidate has:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field5+ years of experience in software engineeringStrong experience with REST API developmentExpertise in writing distributed, highly available, enterprise grade servicesA deep understanding of systems design, data structures, and algorithmsKnowledge in using, maintaining, and documenting infrastructure as code in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)Strong experience with at least one modern programming language, such as Python, Typescript, or GoAbility to be flexible, rational and open-mindedBonus if the candidate has:Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of microservice architecture and design principlesExtensive experience deploying monitoring and supporting production servicesFamiliarity with tackling data migrations while maintaining service availability.Experience working with knowledge graphs or graph databasesThe salary range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000.About System We aspire to help the world see itself differently and build a more responsible and values-driven model of a tech company.
