Position OverviewThe Senior Software Architect will lead the modernization of a legacy desktop application into a scalable, cloud-native web application. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, experienced technical lead, and hands-on architect with a background in software design and modern web-based systems.The Senior Software Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define the system architecture, establish modernization roadmaps, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and lead the architecture of a modern, web-based system that replaces an existing legacy desktop application.Design scalable and secure solutions using .NET, React, ASP.NET, and Azure Cloud services.Create architectural blueprints, technical roadmaps, and system models that align with business objectives.Collaborate with engineering, product, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure architecture implementation meets functional and non-functional requirements.Establish and promote best practices for software design, coding standards, CI/CD, and DevOps processes.Conduct technical reviews, mentorship, and guidance to development teams on architectural decisions and coding practices.Evaluate and select appropriate tools, frameworks, and platforms to support modernization goals.Identify and address technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and security concerns.Required Experience8+ years of professional experience in software development and architecture roles.Proven experience leading large-scale modernization projects, preferably involving legacy-to-cloud or desktop-to-web migrations.Demonstrated success in applying the "strangle the monolith" or similar decomposition strategies in real-world projects.Strong understanding of system design patterns, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native development.Experience in setting and implementing architectural governance, technical standards, and code quality practices.Technical SkillsExpert-level knowledge in:.NET / C#React, TypeScript, JavaScriptASP.NET MVC/Web APIAzure cloud architecture and servicesFamiliarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code).Proficiency in database technologies (SQL Server, Azure SQL, NoSQL options).Experience with architectural patterns such as Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).Non-Technical SkillsTechnical leadership and mentorship abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to clearly convey complex technical ideas to a wide range of stakeholders.Strategic and analytical thinking with a results-oriented mindset.Strong documentation and presentation skills.Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving consensus.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Experience with Agile development processes.Business Unit:InfianFLSA Designation (US Only):ExemptSalary Range (US Only):The estimated base salary range for this role in the United States is $152,000.00 - $228,000.00 per year. For compliance with local legislation, and to provide greater transparency to applicants, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of the desired hiring location or whether the position is remote. The posted range is an estimate and reflects many factors which are subject to change. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above, based upon geographic location, candidate experience and expertise, and other relevant factors.Other Compensation (US Only):This role will also be eligible for participation in a Company profit sharing bonus plan.
