May telecommute but reports to our Bethesda, MD location. You will Use Atlassian tools, incl Jira Software, Jira Service Management, + Confluence to document, manage, resolve, + escalate prod + test environment bugs + enhancements, providing root cause analysis + issue replication. Dev, test, + debug client/server, obj-oriented, + cloud-hosted apps using .Net, C#, Java, Python + similar 4th-gen scripting + prog languages. Translate functional docs into technical design specs. Code review + feedback to other developers + analysts. Manage software changes + deployments using pull requests + merges using GitHub + other distributed code repository platforms. Dev + use RESTful APIs, microservices, + containers in a cloud-native environment. Perform in-depth analysis of app + system error logs, extracting events + patterns using grep, bash, + similar commands. Monitor + troubleshoot failures w/ Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)/Azure Kubernetes Service pods + other components. Build + respond to alerts + outage notifications using Splunk, Grafana, Hystrix, Rigor, New Relic, Prometheus, SCOM, Opsgenie, and other tools. Dev, manage, + troubleshoot enterprise-scale ETL apps using CloverDX. Support mult DB environments + apps, incl MS SQL Server, MySQL, + NoSQL DBs, incl writing advanced SQL queries, analyzing query plans, + ID blocks + other bottlenecks that degrade performance. Use NUnit, Postman, Swagger, SoapUI + similar tools to test internally + externally developed APIs services. Use Meraki + other network tools to troubleshoot connectivity issues. Deploy, upgrade, + test mobile apps using AirWatch. Use remote connectivity tools to troubleshoot field PCs + apps. Troubleshoot SAP Hybris eComm platform, ensuring uptime + efficient ops. Sched + coord changes + prod releases to minimize downtime + user disruptions. Work w/ external vendors + business dep'ts to ID probs + trends in business-to-business processes, incl EDI workflows of invoices + purchase orders. Learn complex, custom-dev apps unique to intrastate/ interstate alcohol sales, ensuring state-specific compliance req’ts met + maintained. Escalate critical outages to Sr. mgt, dep’t leadership, prod mgt, + engineering teams following SOPs. Ensure SLAs + other KPIs met. CI/CD + test automation, performance testing, load testing, + TDD concepts. Messaging systems (Kafka, Apache Spark, RabbitMQ, + Azure Service Bus). Lead + mentor other engineers + analysts. Participate in on-call rotation, incl weekends + holidays. Must have Bachelor in Comp Science, tech-related, or related Engineering field and 8 yrs relevant software development or production support experience. Or MS in Comp Sci, tech-related, or rel engineering field and 3 yrs relevant software development or production support experience. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is accecptable. 2 yrs exp in: supporting Linux, Windows, Android, and Mac operating systems; using source control, issue management, and code deployment tools (Git, GitHub, Jira Software, Jenkins); 2 yrs exp in: monitoring and alerting tools (Splunk, Grafana, Opsgenie, and Hystrix); programming/ scripting languages (Go, Python, .Net/C#, PowerShell, Java, or JavaScript); Web architecture and design; Web Services (SOAP, XML, JSON); relational and distributed database tools and languages, (MySQL, MS SQL Server, CockroachDB, NoSQL); entity. relational diagrams (ERDs); electronic data interchange (EDI); developing, testing and troubleshooting RESTful APIs; (1 yr exp) in: data modeling and normalization/ denormalization; Azure; SAP Hybris.
