Tandym is seeking a highly motivated Senior Network Security Engineer to provide support remotely for a top Financial Services client.

This is a long-term contract, 100% REMOTE.

Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain Palo Alto firewall infrastructure, including patching, upgrades, and configuration.
Convert traditional Layer 4 firewall rules to Layer 7 using App-ID and User-ID.
Create and manage custom App-ID definitions as needed for unique applications.
Ensure performance, availability, and compliance of firewall and security solutions.
Collaborate with internal teams to define and implement secure network solutions.
Support monitoring and response efforts to maintain a strong security posture.
(Preferred) Manage and support Checkpoint firewalls in IaaS/cloud environments.
(Preferred) Deploy Palo Alto firewalls in cloud/IaaS architectures.
(Preferred) Leverage Python scripts to automate network/security operations.
Qualifications:

10+ years of overall network engineering experience, with a strong foundation in designing, implementing, and supporting secure enterprise network infrastructures.
5+ years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewall platforms.
Strong understanding of App-ID, User-ID, and custom App-ID creation.
Experience performing firewall upgrades, patching, and advanced rule configuration.
Proficient in core networking concepts, protocols, and secure design principles.
Familiarity with network infrastructure devices such as routers, switches, and VPNs.
Experience managing Checkpoint firewalls in cloud environments is a plus.
Background deploying Palo Alto solutions in IaaS-based infrastructures is a plus.
Python scripting experience for automating firewall management tasks is a plus.
