Job Description: Senior Java EE Developer – Legacy Modernization- NEED LOCAL TO Austin📍 Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)🕒 Employment Type: Full-timeAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java EE Developer to join our client’s team in Austin, TX. This role focuses on legacy system modernization, requiring strong expertise in EJB, JPA, SOAP services, and Java 8. The ideal candidate will be local to Austin and comfortable with a hybrid schedule (onsite 3 days per week).Key ResponsibilitiesLead modernization efforts for legacy Java EE applications.Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications using EJB, JPA, SOAP, and Java 8.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.Optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, and maintainability.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.Ensure best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.Required Skills & Experience7+ years of professional experience in Java EE development.Strong expertise in EJB, JPA, SOAP-based web services, and Java 8.Experience with legacy system migration/modernization projects.Solid understanding of enterprise architecture and design patterns.Familiarity with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, or similar).Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Ability to work onsite in Austin, TX (3 days per week).Preferred QualificationsExperience with Spring Framework or Microservices architecture.Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).Background in performance tuning and large-scale enterprise systems.
