Our remote-first tools lets you control your cameras from anywhere in the world.About the roleWe are seeking a talented Senior Frontend Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in developing our cutting-edge, browser-based application. In this position, you will work on a complex single-page application (SPA) built with React and TypeScript, pushing the boundaries of what's possible with frontend technologies.You'll have the chance to work on a revolutionary platform that's transforming the way people interact with cameras, and we believe, all devices. You will make a significant impact on the user experience and functionality of our application.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain a high-performance, feature-rich React /TypeScript frontendImplement complex functionalities and processing capabilities within the frontend, ensuring a seamless user experienceWork on projects from conception to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverablesWork up and down the stack, including working with the API/Database layer as well as edge deployed softwareOptimize the frontend for performance, scalability, and reliabilityWork with the complexities of high quality and high performance video systems and the realities of the internetCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including ML and Backend Engineers, to integrate AI modules or other algorithms with specific requirements and constraintsContribute to the overall architecture and design of the Iris PlatformStay up-to-date with emerging frontend technologies and best practices, and incorporate them into the application as appropriateWhat we're looking forProven experience as a Senior Frontend Engineer, with a strong track record of delivering complex, high-performance SPAsDeep expertise in React and its ecosystem, including state management librariesExperience optimizing frontend performance and implementing best practices for scalabilityStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively when faced with technical challengesExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote team environmentPassion for creating exceptional user experiences and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable codeFamiliarity with WebRTC, WebAssembly, and WebGPU is a plus, comfort in working with all three is a mustAbout you You have a genuine passion for computer science and software engineering, and you enjoy working on personal projects outside of workYou are proactive in staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the fieldYou have a diverse range of interests and can bring a unique perspective to problem-solving and innovationYou understand the challenges and opportunities associated with working in a small, fast-paced startup environmentYou are comfortable with increased autonomy, wider job expectations, and the need to be flexible and adaptable in a rapidly changing environmentIf you're excited about the opportunity to join a passionate team working on cutting-edge technology, we'd love to hear from you.
