Chrysalis AE — Building Ethical Identity Infrastructure for the Human InternetWe’re building the trust layer for AI-native systems: the infrastructure that lets technology adapt to people without exploiting, storing, or surveilling them. Our work sits at the intersection of privacy, consent, and adaptive intelligence, and every part of our architecture is designed to protect the person first.We’re looking for a Front End Developer who can help us bring this infrastructure to life through interfaces that feel clear, grounded, and human. You’ll be building the surfaces where our philosophy meets the user.You’ll join early, work closely with our founder, engineering, and product teams, and help establish the patterns, components, and interaction models that define what ethical, user-owned identity looks and feels like in practice.ResponsibilitiesBuild and own major product features in React + TypeScript, from idea → implementation → iteration.Write clean, maintainable, and testable front-end code with strong attention to state management, performance, and UX polish.Collaborate with designers to translate Figma mocks into production components with high visual fidelity.Work closely with backend engineers to define API needs, data models, and integration points.Contribute to (and help mature) our design system / shared component library.Improve the application architecture: component reuse, state management patterns, code organization, performance optimization.Identify and drive down technical debt across the frontend codebase.Own quality: write tests, help define coding standards, lead code reviews.Proactively propose improvements—both product and technical—without needing direction.Help shape engineering culture, processes, and best practices as we scale.RequirementsMust Have5+ years building production-grade frontends using React and TypeScript.Deep experience with:Component architectureState management patterns (Redux, Zustand, Jotai, etc.)Async data flowsError handling & resiliency patternsStrong experience with Node.js for build tooling, server-side integration, or light fullstack work.Ability to take vague product requirements and turn them into production-ready features with little guidance.Strong eye for design—even if you’re not a designer:Pixel accuracySpacing, layout, typography intuitionUnderstanding how to implement real design systemsComfort working in fast-moving environments, shipping quickly, and iterating with founders and designers.Excellent communication and autonomy while collaborating in a remote-first team.Strong English speaking skillsStrong PlusExperience with design systems (building components, tokens, theming, Storybook, etc.)Experience with:ViteNext.jsTailwindCSS-in-JS (Emotion, Styled Components)Experience consuming GraphQL or well-structured REST APIs.Familiarity with full-stack workflows (API integration, small backend changes).Experience in early-stage startup environments or on 0→1 projects.Comfort working heavily with LLM tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) for speed and iteration.BenefitsWhy JoinThis is an early, ground-floor role with the opportunity to help shape the foundational infrastructure for adaptive AI. Work directly with the Founder on a project positioned as the next layer of AI infrastructure.If you thrive on solving hard problems and building what doesn’t yet exist, this is that chance.DetailsRemote-first, flexibleFull-time contractor positionEquity + compensation negotiable
