📋 Description
• Complete projects end to end in the employee health engagement SaaS industry, working in a global environment with remote teams.
• Prepare datasets and establish data pipelines, build predictive machine learning models, and optimize model performance.
• Support model deployment and inference workflows across product portfolio.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Prepare datasets: Procuring, cleaning, transforming, and sampling complex healthcare data using SQL and SAS programming languages.
• Working with data engineers, and software engineers to establish data pipelines.
• Troubleshooting and performing data audits to ensure and improve data integrity; investigating and resolving data discrepancies.
• Leveraging model development software as well as Python and SAS to train/build models.
• Applying statistical techniques to validate and evaluate model performance (e.g. ROC curve, concordance, lift, confusion matrices) to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Supporting model deployment and inference workflows across Virgin Pulse’s product portfolio in partnership with other Engineering and Product team stakeholders.
• Consulting and collaborating with Product, Analytics, and Account Management team members to ensure appropriate models are developed.
• Working with departmental processes, projects, and programs to keep projects and milestones on schedule, our collaborative and internal work organized as well as externally facing documentation comprehensive, updated, and accessible.
• Mentoring junior team members in best engineering and data science practices.

🎯 Requirements
• Master’s degree in statistics, comp sci, economics, or related field (or foreign equivalent).
• Three (3) years of relevant data science experience.
• Three (3) years experience with clinical/medical data.
• Three (3) years experience using SAS and Python programming languages to analyze data and build predictive models.
• Three (3) years experience writing advanced SQL queries against large relational databases.
• Three (3) years experience producing and delivering analyses using varied media.
• Three (3) years experience managing medium and large-scale model development projects from end to end.
