We are always looking for exceptional talent to join us on the journey! • Your Mission • This role will focus on supporting the fraud and risk as a service team in the gaming, gambling and skills-based games space. You will help the team and the leadership evaluate current risk and fraud conditions though data analyses and visualizations, propose new and innovative solutions to detect and prevent fraud and other payment risks. You will build and assess statistical models and help build our data architecture, systems and tools for advanced fraud detection. • Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Data Analysis & Anomaly Detection: Perform deep exploratory data analysis (EDA) on transactional and user behavior data to uncover fraud and loss patterns and anomalies. • Fraud Detection Modeling: Design, develop and refine learning models to prevent and payment fraud, consumer abuse, and while optimize authentication and conversation rates. • Monitoring & Analytics Tools: Build dashboards and automated monitoring for fraud risk indicators (fraud rates, chargebacks, etc.) for internal and external stakeholders. • Optimize Auto-Approval Systems: Tune decisioning rules and model thresholds to prevent fraud while maintaining user experience. • Experimentation & Model Validation: Design and test new risk models to improve performance and business impact from new techniques. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, and operations to deploy models into production and integrate with new and existing workflows. • Incident Response & Continuous Improvement: Support fraud investigations and update models through post-incident learnings. • Reporting & Stakeholder Communication: Present findings to senior leadership, shaping risk policies and product roadmap. • Mentorship and Best Practices: Mentor junior team members and promote data science and machine learning best practices across the team. • Qualifications include, but are not limited to: • 5+ years of experience building data science/machine learning products, preferably with a focus on fraud/risk. • Strong statistical and machine learning foundations, including anomaly detection and classification. • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership. • Bring an entrepreneur and innovation mind set to Nuvei, advancing the adoption of next gen technology and capabilities • Prior experience in gaming, gambling, fintech, or high-risk industries is a plus. • Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch) and SQL. • Working Language • English (written and spoken) is required as work involves cross-functional collaboration with teams across North America. 🎯 Requirements 🏖️ Benefits Nuvei offers a wide variety of benefits which include Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, Paid time off, 401(k) and many other great benefits. • Frequent training programs on new systems and platforms. • Free Virtual yoga, meditation and fitness classes, community involvement, and many social activities. • Group Private Medical Insurance • Employee recognition program and possibilities for advancement in various fields. • Modern, dynamic and great work environment. • Nuvei is an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates collaboration and innovation and is committed to developing a diverse and inclusive workplace.
